Founded in 1979, Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (GPA) is an independent, full-service naval architecture and marine engineering firm.

With offices in the US, Brazil, Chile, and China, GPA developed into a multidisciplinary company that since 1979 has helped vessel owners and shipyards navigate through complex new-build, retrofit and repair projects.

GPA is renowned worldwide for its work and achievements in the naval architecture and marine engineering world and is also recognized for being an independent and neutral opinion in the industry.

GPA started out designing fishing vessels and has evolved steadily over the decades, catching successive “waves“ of demand from the industry with ships of all types tailored to individual customers’ requirements.

Today, GPA offers a full range of engineering services to the maritime industry, with clients located worldwide. As an independent design house, we partner with our clients to produce customized, unbiased, and cost-effective designs that meet their requirements.

GPA’s solid team consists of over 60 professionals, including naval architects, marine engineers, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers and administrative support. While GPA’s clientele is still mainly US based, we also enjoy a loyal customer base in the Asian, South American and European maritime market.
