Goodwill Industries of Chattanooga

Goodwill is much more than just thrift stores. Goodwill Industries in Chattanooga serves 23 Counties in southeast TN and northwest GA. Goodwill provides a hand up, not a handout to help people to become more self-sufficient and gain independence. We serve over 10,000 individuals annually who are facing a variety of life's challenges, including physical disabilities or other disadvantages such as a lack of education or a long absence from the work force. We have 15 thrift stores, an Outlet Store and an E-Commerce division. In addition to our workforce development and employment placement programs, we offer 5 other services and programs, many of which are unique to our Chattanooga area and in the Goodwill International network. These include: Health Equipment Link Program services (HELPs) collects, repairs and sanitizes medical equipment that is given away to individuals in need. Over 6,100 individuals benefited last year with equipment valued at over $1 Million. Chattanooga Furniture Bank provides new and used furniture and household necessities to people transitioning out of homelessness or as the result of emergency situations and catastrophes. Benefited 420 households, including 45 Veterans and 598 dependents. Others programs: Senior employment training and job placement services; clothing vouchers; and computer and electronics recycling. Funding for these programs and services comes from personal, corporate and foundation gifts, and from the retail sales in our Goodwill stores. Goodwill is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are a member agency of Goodwill Industries International, the United Way of Greater Chattanooga and we are accredited by CARF.
