The Department of Tourism, Innovation and Sport invest in Queensland’s innovation and tourism sectors to drive economic growth and create jobs in our regions to help Queensland recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. We are leading economic recovery initiatives for these sectors under the Queensland Government’s Unite and Recover: Queensland Economic Recovery Plan. We also empower Queenslanders to enjoy physical activity to improve their health and wellbeing in active communities. We do this through grant funding, infrastructure and planning, events and world-class venues. And we make sure Queensland continues to be at the forefront of professional sport by supporting our state’s elite athletes at the Queensland Academy of Sport.
