D+e=design+environment

d+e is an inter-disciplinary team of architects, landscape architects and urban designers focused on enhancing the user experience and our project’s performance and value. Our approach combines landscape architecture, urbanism and architecture artfully into a greater ensemble while responding to the natural systems upon which built places depend. Our team builds on the experience we have gained in accomplished individual careers designing buildings, parks, campuses, neighborhoods and town centers. The interdisciplinary approach yields thoroughly green, site-based solutions in architecture, landscape architecture, urban design and planning. Ours is a whole systems approach that integrates site and structure into breathing, dynamic buildings and places that can adapt with seasons, times of day and users’ changing needs. Our architecture, landscape and urbanism is sensitive to solar orientation, hydrology, landform, soils and vegetation as well as culture – the psychology and aesthetics essential for livable spaces where community can thrive. We give both these hard and soft aspects of design deep attention.
