Darby Development Company, Inc. was established by R. Gordon Darby in 1968. He began in real estate sales. From there, Mr. Darby made the transition to building as well as selling single-family homes. That transition led to another, in that he began a career in the multi-family industry following his success in the single-family arena. More than forty years later, the senior management team now consists of Mr. Darby, Robert Darby, Jr., as Maintenance Superintendent; Victoria Cowart, CPM, as Vice President of Property Management; Ann Grizzle, as Comptroller; Roger Jackson, as Assistant Maintenance Superintendent; Lydia Ackerman, CAM, as Director of Training and Support Services. The portfolio now consists of office space; light industrial, industrial, & warehouse space; and multi-family apartment communities—including both conventional apartments and subsidized apartments. Third-party management is also an offering of this firm, which includes apartment communities and HOA management as well.
