Canteen Store Department (CSD), working under the umbrella of Ministry of Defense, has passed through various stages, since its inception in 1913. With the theme of “Convenience, Accessibility and Reaching-out the customers”, CSD aims to ensure the existence of an adequate product range and effective service network through which quality products and services can be provided to maximum number of its customers nationwide. CSD has moved from the image of a ‘Convenience Store’ to a Super Market/Shopping Complex, with 110+ outlets having modern retail environment, providing its valued customers all shopping facilities under one roof, CSD is proud to be serving the Nation in those operational areas where other retailers can barely think. CSD is consistently focusing on its primary mission: welfare of the Armed Forces personnel. During the past six years, CSD has started extending 5% rebate to Armed Forces Personnel out of its net profit. CSD is running a welfare oriented Hire Purchase Scheme since 1974, which is, costlier household items like Cars, Motor Cycles, Refrigerators, Deep Freezers, TVs, Air Conditioners, Computers, Generator Sets and Sewing/Washing Machines etc., are sold to its customers on easy installments. CSD continuous the process of modernization and is proud to have Joint Ventures with leading corporate sector to facilitate our valuable customers.
