Chevalier College

Chevalier College is the largest secondary high school in the Southern Highlands region with almost 1200 students and draws enrolments from a 5,000 sq km catchment from the north of Picton, south to Marulan and east to Kangaroo Valley and Nowra. It is an independent non-profit Catholic college but admits students of any religious belief. It receives both Federal and State funding as part of its recurrent budget as well as modest fees paid by families; it provides a substantial fee relief scheme for the financially needy in the community based on means testing. Chevalier College is a Catholic Secondary College owned by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) and conducted by Chevalier College Limited. Chevalier does more than teach the curriculum, although the College is widely recognised for its high standard of teaching and excellent care for students. Chevalier is a community that embodies a special culture grounded in a spirituality which inspires teachers and students to aim for greater things. It is a culture which encourages people to do their best and instills confidence that every person is valued. If one’s time at school is a ‘formative’ period, then Chevalier truly makes the most of that time.
