Brown-Wilbert was founded in 1922 by Henry "Fritz" Chandler in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Fritz was the 2nd Wilbert licensee in the country and assumed the business name 'Perfected Burial Vault Company' with a location on Selby Ave in St. Paul. In the early 1940's, Fritz moved to Roseville where Brown-Wilbert currently resides. Wesley "Bud" Chandler purchased the business from Fritz in 1945. Whereby Chandler-Wilbert grew to 9 locations in expanding into North Dakota and Wisconsin. In 1995, Brown-Wilbert emerged, after the company was listed with a broker. In addition to serving 900 Funeral Homes, Brown-Wilbert has become the largest septic tank producer in both Minnesota and North Dakota and has recently joined as a producer of Redi-Rock & Pole Bases. Brown-Wilbert as the largest casket & urn supplier in the Midwest. To complete the Brown-Wilbert business line, Imagination Granite, manufactures and installs urn columbariums & mausoleums. Brown-Wilbert prides itself on top customer service since 1922.
