Bright Sparks - University of Portsmouth Enterprise Society

Bright Sparks aims to promote entrepreneurship within the University, while providing a platform that allows groups and individual students to network and develop entrepreneurial ideas and become active entrepreneurs.Bright Sparks will serve as a centre for the motivated student community to achieve their business ambitions. The society will also give the opportunity to connect and network with both students across the country as well as professionals and speakers from a wide range of industries. We have planned to hold various events throughout the year; SWAG Market – This is our big event in the second semester where students have the chance to make and sell their own products to the public as well as the student body. This event is our major open public facing event intended not only for student’s part of the society but also those who are interested in selling. Apprentice style competition – Held within the first semester this competition will test members entrepreneurial skills. This is intended as part of a regional and eventually national event organised through NACUE and other enterprise societies. Cafe Entrepreneurial – This is the monthly informal speaker series similar to Cafe Scientifique where we invite a speaker to come down and speak to the public as well as members about various subjects in an informal and educational method.
