Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula (BGCVP) started as the Boys Club of Newport News in 1946 serving approximately 250 boys. The organization currently serves more than 6,000 youth in 13 clubs located in Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, Gloucester, Mathews, and York County. Youth benefit from a caring professional staff who help them take control of their lives, envision productive futures, and help them set and achieve their goals. Boys & Girls Clubs offers youth a safe place to learn and grow with programs in five core areas: character and leadership development; education and career development; health and life skills; sports, recreation and fitness; and the arts. Our mission is to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring, & responsible citizens.
