About BOTAŞ

BOTAS was established on August 15, 1974 by The Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), for the purpose of transporting Iraqi crude oil to the Ceyhan Marine Terminal. Because of Turkey’s increasing need for diversified energy sources, since 1987 BOTAS has expanded its original purpose of transporting crude oil through pipelines to cover natural gas transportation and trade activities, therefore becoming a trading company. Strategic goals of BOTAS are: * to create value by meeting European energy demand with the sources of the Caspian and Middle East Regions, * to have an effective role and independent voice in the oil and natural gas market, contributing to the creation of liberalised market conditions, * to supply energy to Turkey at world level cost, * to improve customer satisfaction, * to form a dynamic and structurally strong organisation, welcoming quality standards and sharing a common culture, * to build strategic co-operation * to maintain the security of employees by respecting the environment and to contribute to society, * to improve the employee satisfaction and efficiency.
