Founded by patriarch Philip Belz (1904 - 2000) in the early 1940s on a four-acre tract in north Memphis, the company’s first project was construction of several of the city’s first large industrial buildings.

Belz, a leader in Memphis, Tennessee, is one of the South’s largest commercial and industrial real estate developers with interests throughout the Mid-South and much of the country.

Belz develops, owns and manages warehouse/ distribution, retail, office/showroom, factory outlet malls, apartments/residential developments, land and hotels. Belz total property holdings include more than 25 million square feet of developed property. The properties include more than 30 shopping complexes, ranging from regional malls and community shopping centers to factory outlet malls, as well as hotels, office, industrial and residential developments.

In addition to Memphis, Tennessee, Belz develops, owns and/or manages properties and land tracts in Nashville and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; Orlando, Florida; Puerto Rico; New York, New York; Boston, Massachusetts ; Greenville, South Carolina; Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Dallas, Texas.
