Bailey Architects was founded in 1975 as a Houston-based architectural, planning, and interior design firm specializing in programming, facility assessment and design, master planning, and sustainable design. In the course of 40 years, the practice won over 70 design awards, as well as honors from the Texas Historical Commission for their commitment to historic preservation.

In 2015, Bailey Architects joined the national design practice of Shepley Bulfinch, one of the country's oldest and most respected architecture firms, and is now Shepley Bulfinch's Houston office.
