August Group Ventures was founded in 2009 by New York-based Related Companies veteran Chad Cooley to pursue opportunities in the ailing hospitality market. Following the worst year-over-year market-wide revenue declines in memory, August Group focused in 2010 and 2011 on investing in and stabilizing overleveraged hotels in need of capital and management expertise. Today, August Group owns and manages 15 hotels around the United States and continues to seek opportunities to invest in and manage hospitality assets requiring capital, repositioning and turn-around expertise.
