Association For Institutional Research (AIR)

The mission of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) is to support members in their efforts to continuously improve the practice of institutional research for postsecondary planning, management and operations, and to further develop and promote the institutional research profession. The Electronic AIR is a free online newsletter distributed monthly to anyone interested in institutional research. Publishing regularly since October of 1987, the E-AIR is the single oldest, still-publishing email newsletter on the Internet. Additionally, AIR sponsors an annual forum (http://www.airweb.org/forum) that brings together approximately 1,700 institutional research professionals to learn the newest methods of institutional research, exchange information and ideas about post-secondary educational institutions, and network with colleagues. AIR sponsors research in the field through the AIR Grant Program's (http://www.airweb.org/grants) grants and fellowships, provides professional development through it's online IPEDS training webinars (http://www.airweb.org/ipeds) and conducts several IR training institutes (http://www.airweb.org/institutes) throughout the year. The Association publishes and sponsors a number of publications including the quarterly Professional File and the book series Resources in Institutional Research. The AIR Jobs page (http://www.airweb.org/jobs) is a free resource for those seeking a career in the field.
