Accion in the U.S.

Accion is the largest nationwide nonprofit lending network in the United States. We work with small business owners to provide access to affordable loans and the training and support needed to create and grow healthy enterprises. We serve small businesses across the U.S. through four, independent, regional community development financial institutions (CDFIs) and a U.S Network office that invests in shared knowledge, innovation, and scaling solutions for the benefit of the entire network. Accion empowers entrepreneurs to realize their dreams and be catalysts for positive change in their communities. The businesses we support foster job creation, wage growth and economic vibrancy across the U.S. Since 1991, Accion has provided more than 60,000 loans totaling over $500 million to small businesses across the country. Accion provides business advising and training services – both in person and through online educational resources – to tens of thousands of entrepreneurs each year. A majority of our clients are minorities, low-to-moderate income, or both. Over 40% of our clients are women.
