Data, in any form, is just static information unless it is transformed into meaningful insights into your business.
A business, for example, may keep track of its ranking amongst its competitors, but may not track the specifics as to what they do better or areas where they need improvement. In such cases, they then lack the ability to react and adjust accordingly. Having the ability to turn data into appropriate actions is key.
There is no point to collecting data if you do not understand the underlying meaning and how to use the information to increase revenues, improve consumer satisfaction and keep your business relevant over time.
