The PREP

The PREP is a small, private supplemental educational enrichment program that provides students with the opportunity for academic growth as well as personal and physical development prior to entering high school. Parents who elect to home school their children can take advantage of the PREP, a one-year structured enrichment program for one or more subjects. This program is not designed to supplant an educational grade, but rather to supplement each student’s capacity for learning prior to entering high school as a 9th grader. The program is specifically designed for students who have successfully completed middle school and who have satisfied 8th grade graduation requirements. The PREP will help parents provide a structured gap-year between middle and high school for students who would benefit from an additional year of maturity. The program models a home school learning environment that offers flexible scheduling and curriculum assistance, aligned with New Jersey Student Learning Standards, but will also offer enrichment courses, collaborative learning experiences, facility for training, as well as experienced educators. Unlike a traditional home school setting, all instructors at The PREP are certified and experienced high school teachers, holding master’s degrees in their respective fields exceeding the qualifications of home school efforts. During a typical day of class, instructors will also integrate specific life skills into their teaching as they all have professional real-world work experience outside of the education field. Additionally, intense, focused physical training will be incorporated into the day.
