In 1996, G&W Motorsports, Inc. was founded by Cole Scrogham, Danny Marshall and Steve Marshall. As G&W Motorsports, the team won numerous championships and developed into a competitive program. G&W Motorsports won the inaugural Grand-Am GTU Championship in 2000 and until 2007,had been the only team to enter and compete in every Grand Am Rolex event since its inception. The team's name was changed to Synergy Racing at the start of the 2005 season. Cole left Synergy at the end of 2010. To date, Synergy Racing holds eight Grand Am Championships with more than 50 podium finishes.
