Swarm XVI™ is a systematic managed futures strategy that takes inspiration from the behavioural principles of insect colonies (biomimicry) to make trading decisions. The program is composed of 16 individual agents or systems that operate independently within a futures market. These systems exchange price data (momentum, volatility, etc) to generate an information-sharing matrix of 65,535 synthetic data points, which influences each system's individual perspective and allows them to make decentralised decisions that benefit the group's overall survival. This differentiated thinking leads the program to find diverse and equally valuable signals, making Swarm XVI™ unique and resulting in strong performance with low correlation to other systematic strategies and traded asset classes.
