About Survivors Rising

Survivors Rising uplifts and amplifies the voices of survivors post-crisis and is a catalyst for individual and systems change through inclusive survivor and community engagement.

As a survivor-led organization, we are passionate about our cause. We recognize and respond to the need for education and action to break the stigma surrounding discussing these crimes and addressing them in the community. We are committed to working with survivors to provide hope and tools to transform their lives and to promote survivor engagement. We actively oppose subordination, exploitation, oppression, and abuse at the individual and systems levels. And, we are tireless in promoting policies and practices that support survivors and advance their cause.

Everything we do is based in survivor-centric, trauma-informed, and culturally relevant approaches. Our focus is on survivors - and their allies - of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, stalking, and harassment, in the post-crisis phases. We highlight the voices of survivors who are overlooked, misrepresented, and unheard.

We use advocacy and action as well as authentic community engagement and community-building as strategies to prevent interpersonal and sexual violence and abuse. We reimagine safety and justice from the survivor point of view. We foster prevention and intervention policies and practices that promote healing for survivors. And, we demand change and accountability of the systems and individuals that perpetuate the unequal power that results in subordination, exploitation, oppression, and abuse.
