Stemming from a shared passion for social justice and advocacy, this annual youth open-mic event works to inform, connect and amplify the voices of over 200 youth across the GTA. Our goal is to create a safe space where diverse perspectives on social and global issues can be shared and important youth-driven conversation can be had.
This youth run organization hopes to encourage, and give youth the tools in order to encourage global thinkers and leaders of change. We support youth creativity as a means of expressing opinions on topics such as mental health, youth identity, forms of discrimination and speaking out against forms of oppression.
Our second event in 2019 attracted over 110 youth from across the GTA, and local/community sponsors such as Islamic Relief Canada, Union Social Eatery, Studioo.89, Christina's Tortina and more. Over 20 youth speakers presented through rap, spoken word, singing and speeches on a variety of different topics! All performances and highlights videos are available to view on our site.
