Spectrum Evolve

Spectrum Healthcare UK Ltd specialises in the supply of evacuation equipment and moving & handling equipment for use in hospitals, care homes, hospices, schools, universities and any other public or private building. Our innovative products are designed with the safety of individuals/residents in mind, as well as the postural comfort of the carer. The introduction of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order of 2005 and the Disability Discrimination Act of 1995 mean that employers and organisations have a legal requirement to provide evacuation equipment in the event of a fire. We work with healthcare professionals and organisations to develop evacuation products to cater for all types of individuals, including patients with specialist or complex care needs. Many of our products can be modified. Worldwide obesity has more than doubled since 1980 leading to greater demand for moving and handling equipment for these individuals. The rising levels of obesity affect hospitals, ambulance services, funeral directors and fire & rescue services as they struggle to move and transport bariatric individuals. We understand that the body mass of bariatric individuals can vary, our range of bariatric equipment allows for the safe evacuation of these individuals while protecting staff against manual handling related injuries. Figures from the HSE show that in health and social care services, moving and handling injuries account for 40 per cent of work-related sickness absence. Our range of moving and handling equipment has been designed with comfort and safety in mind to reduce the risk of injury to your staff and the individual being moved. We also offer a modular floor mat, developed through NHS Innovations, to form part of a fall injury prevention programme. We offer coverage of the whole of the UK and Republic of Ireland and provide training and product demonstrations through a network of moving and handling consultants and distributors, located across the regions.
