Spatch is a new decentralized communication protocol built on top of email. It enables richer, more efficient digital communication. Spatch is built on top of email and completely backwards compatible with what you currently use. The key feature to Spatch is that it enables senders to add metadata to each message depending on the “type” of message being sent. Receivers can then more efficiently process their inboxes as the messages are automatically organized, filtered, and processed. An email becomes 1) a richer experience because it can be presented differently based on intent, context, and metadata, and 2) easier to use with your preferred productivity apps – no more manually copying/pasting unstructured data between your mail app and everything else. The initial product is an iOS app, but the Spatch team will also be defining a new, backwards-compatible Internet protocol. The plan is to keep it open and decentralized so others can join in helping build a new ecosystem. Email has looked the same for 40 years. Should it really look the same for the next 40?
