Singapore Symphony Group

The Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) performs over 50 symphonic concerts a year, at its performing home the Esplanade Concert Hall, and also regularly at the Victoria Concert Hall, home of the SSO since 1979, as well as other indoor and outdoor venues. The Orchestra’s versatile repertoire ranges from all-time favourites to great masterpieces and exciting world and local premieres. In support of Singaporean talent, local musicians and composers feature prominently in each concert season. Since Maestro Lan Shui became Music Director of the SSO in 1997, he has raised the Orchestra’s level of excellence, and been distinguished by his dedication to the performance of new Asian compositions. In September 2014 the SSO made its debut at the BBC Proms in London, one of the greatest music festivals in the world.
