We exist to support families across Scotland who are affected by or worried for someone's alcohol or drug misuse. Our vision is a Scotland which recognises the role played by and supports the needs of families and communities affected by substance misuse.
We are unique as one of our core values is to think about and focus on the family and the impact an individual's substance use has on a family as a group. Very few organisations think about the family, we understand that family members live and deal with shame, guilt, and stigma and without the support they need.
By 'families', we do not mean only biological families and relatives. We mean whom you count as your family - your friends, your colleagues, your community.
Our services include:
Helpline
A free and confidential service Monday to Friday from 9am - 11pm and Saturday and Sunday from 5pm - 11pm. 08080 10 10 11, a webchat option and email option is also available. Our helpline advisors can provide support and signpost callers onto the appropriate service in their local area.
Family Support Groups
We have staff currently working in Forth Valley and East Dunbartonshire who offer one-to-one support and host weekly family support groups.
Bereavement Support Service
Our bereavement service is free and confidential to those who have lost a loved one from a drug-related death in the last five years.
Telehealth
Our Telehealth service offers free and confidential support via telephone, email and webchat. Families in rural locations or those unable to access other kinds of services can still receive the help and support they need.
