About Red Ribbon Foundation
The Red Ribbon Foundation promotes awareness of HIV/AIDS and provides grants to premiere local and international organizations in the fields of HIV/AIDS treatment, research and prevention/education. Founded in 1994 by a family who lost their son to AIDS, RRF has awarded over $2.3 million to a wide array of programs, ranging from camps for HIV affected families and individuals, housing initiatives, programs to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS, AIDS orphanages, to innovative prevention programs using music and soccer to engage youth.
Red Ribbon is known in the metro NYC area for its colorful, musically themed special events, that in the past have featured the B52s, Yerba Buena, and the designer Michael Kors. Revenues from these events provide the funds for program grants.
