Hi folks! My name is Janessa Ferrell and I'm a former teacher, reading expert, and co-founder of QuestRead. We're building an engaging reading game that increases motivation and achievement for elementary-aged children. The app is under development now and we plan to launch this summer. Our kids spend about 6 hours per day on screens, but more than half of American children aren't reading at grade level! QuestRead offers a fun reading experience that doesn't feel like school, and empowers parents to support their child's reading practice at home. Parents can purchase subscriptions through the App Store, set up their child's account, and then let QuestRead take over. For their child, it's an interactive game where they record themselves reading out loud and get to read a variety of books, based on their interests. Behind the scenes, we're using AI to imitate a reading specialist - assessing fluency, offering adaptive learning, and explicitly teaching reading skills.
