Over the past ten years, Nick Willars and Gerard Daws have worked independently within their respective employers to establish and develop a specialist Design Management consultancy which forms a key part of architectural design leadership. Design Management is a discipline dedicated to supporting architects and designers to define and communicate the design and implementation strategy required to create certainty in the delivery of major architectural projects. Now more than ever, demands are being placed upon architects which means that they need to be organized and make sure that the factors crucial to project success such as design programme are covered. Plan A Consultants has been established to provide a unique management and consultancy service to Architects and Designers so that they can focus on their core design skills and what they do best. It is a role required over all design phases irrespective of the project scale, complexity or location. Prior to setting up Plan A Consultants, Nick Willars and Gerard Daws have both led dedicated teams of design managers at Buro Four and AECOM and are widely recognised as leading figures in the industry
