About Phoenix Rise

The Phoenix Rise, founded and owned by James Fitzgerald, and Jon Callahan will officially kick of this new professional sports endeavor called Grid League. The Rise is one of the 8 founding teams of the National Professional Grid League. The league or NPGL is planning to expand to 16 professional teams in the 2015 season. Grid League is a sport where the world comes to watch teams from across the country challenge each other physically and strategically. Combining strategy, brute physical power, and agility, Grid brings strategic athletics racing to fans around the world. With co-ed teams and competitors over 40 years old, the Grid is where athletes come together to race towards a shared destiny.

Each Grid match consists of 11 races. The general rules of each race are fixed and described below. There are many specific variations of each race. In the NPGL, all the teams compete in the same set of specific races (match) each week or stage of competition. Teams compete directly against their live opponent to determine the win or loss. They are also competing indirectly against all the other teams for Tiebreaker Points.
