Peace River Regional District

The Peace Liard Regional District was established in 1967, splitting into the Peace River Regional District and the Fort Nelson-Liard Regional District in 1987 (now the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality). The region extends from the Alberta border west to the Rocky Mountain Divide and north to the 58th Parallel. Approximately 60,000 people live in the region's seven (7) municipalities and four (4) Electoral Areas known as Area 'B', 'C', 'D', and 'E'. The Board of Directors for the Peace River Regional District and Hospital District are made up of twelve (12) electoral area and municipal directors.
