POWER Org Math

We help Kids See, Say, and Do Math Differently. We are a Detroit based educational 501c3 founded in 2005 to help youth in Metropolitan communities increase their confidence, competency, and proficiency with math. Currently serving youth ages 4-17 and families. We offer Annual Math Expos, #POPUpMathLab's, Math Camps, and Math Clubs for youth. Our "I Love My Kids with Math" movement is designed to change attitudes, anxiety, and improve achievement levels through parent engagement hosted through Title 1 family-focused school workshops and community events. Our Global Math Initiative-South Africa launched in March 2014 to enhance the academic and cultural experiences of 100 secondary youth in the northern community - Limpopo. Many of our programs are possible because of the generous in-kind donations of facility use, technical assistance, products, services, and direct engagement with families (by STEM professionals, college students and adults with a heart for kids); as well as partnerships and collaborations. Individual donations, grants, and fee-based services help meet financial obligations. We are excited about requests to host more frequent programs and events but we need your support. Let's connect to help more youth (kids) in Metro Detroit and South Africa win with math through POWER Org Math! 1) Sponsor a program or event. 2) Host a customized event, program or Math Club at your location for your group of 15 or more. 3) Inquire about joining our group of board members or advisors. 4) Become a Math Ambassador. Volunteer as an individual, family, or with your corporate/community group. Virtual and in-person opportunities are available. We could benefit from assistance with marketing, funds development and more. 5) Add POWER Organization (POWER Org Math) to your recurring donations plan or corporate giving campaign.
