About Operation Understanding
Operation Understanding’s mission is to develop a group of young African American and Jewish leaders knowledgeable about each other's histories and cultures to effectively lead the communities of Philadelphia and beyond to a greater understanding of diversity and acceptance. Participants in OU's core program, OU Ambassadors, share their message with over 2,000 school age students and community members each year to promote greater understanding and respect for difference.
By inspiring compassionate, knowledgeable individuals who are ready to serve, prepared to lead and eager to make a difference our alumni are a committed network of professionals that are prepared to ‘give back’ to OU, to Philadelphia and to the community at large.
