Since 1989, the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority, a state agency within the Ohio Department of Higher Education, has been helping families save for a college education. Ohio was one of the first states to offer a Section 529 qualified tuition program. 529 plans are tax-advantaged college savings programs, typically offered by states, have fast become one of the most popular ways to save for college.
The Tuition Trust offers and administers Ohio's 529 Plan, CollegeAdvantage. Ohio's 529 Plan is available to families through the CollegeAdvantage Direct 529 Savings Plan and the BlackRock CollegeAdvantage Advisor 529 Savings Plan. Both plans offer a wide variety of investment options in order to appeal to the diverse needs of families saving for college.
The CollegeAdvantage Direct 529 Savings Plan offers lower-fee, quality investment options you select and manage, including easy-to-manage, age-based options. Direct investments are managed by Vanguard, Dimensional Fund Advisors and Fifth Third Bank.
The BlackRock CollegeAdvantage Advisor 529 Savings Plan is available through financial advisors. This plan offers the same 529 tax-savings benefits, with different investment options and fund managers than the Direct Plan.
