Founded in 2008, The Nebraska Writers Collective is an Omaha-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization that fosters personal empowerment and community-building in the Midwest through creative writing and performance poetry. We pursue this mission through a variety of literary outreach programs, but primarily through hands-on, interactive workshops focused on the creation and performance of original writing. NWC programming focuses on three main goals: -Mentoring New Writers -Sustaining and Retaining Established Writers -Preserving and Promoting the Work of Writers Throughout Nebraska, Western Iowa, and Beyond Programs include: Louder Than a Bomb: Great Plains, serving thousands of students in 40+ schools throughout Nebraska and western Iowa.
