Modal Shift

We process hundreds of web articles and podcasts, actively engage with our informed networks, and produce content that is :: 1. Largely Fair and Unbiased (since this is a side project built on passion) 2. Concise (since we aren't viewtime-driven like traditional news companies) 3. Digestible and Accessible (aimed at the average person, informative and beneficial for all) Our primary platform is Instagram, with Twitter, Medium, LinkedIn, and Facebook as secondary platforms. We began when we realized there wasn't a single source covering urban mobility news that skillfully leverages the visual element. We also sought to meet a growing need of bringing news to the average person in a space that is flipping the world upside down. Most people aren't following Michal Naka on Twitter, listening to Horace Dediu's podcasts, or reading The Information, TechCrunch, and Stratechery. A website that links to other sources, serves as a blog, and presents a basic argument in the form of a narrative for the future of transportation and cities (we own https://modalshift.news) is in the near future, and a podcast is a possibility further down the road. We began as @micromobility, but recently rebranded because (1) the old name wasn’t necessarily aligned with the core focus and (2) the term “micromobility” is becoming increasingly associated with Horace Dediu, James Gross, and Oliver Bruce’s awesome podcast + conference + worldwide influence, and want to support their great work in whatever way we can.
