Mitchell’s Mausers imports: K98k Mauser rifles that survived the destruction of Nazi Germany. Even some special model variations that were produced during WWII are included: rare Nazi factory codes with year code markings, early pre-war Mausers with the famous Mauser ‘Banner’ marking, rare concentration camp rifles, and specially marked “SS” Gestapo rifles. Some K98 sniper rifles complete with the original scope are also available in limited numbers.. M48 Model: K98 rifles, known as the Model 48, over sixty years old; yet they are classified as military-new! The reason they are unique and still 'military-new' is that they were built in Kragujevac, Serbia, which had been occupied by the Germans early in the war. After the Germans had been driven out in late 1943, Mauser rifle production was continued by the then Communist regime. The M48 rifles were built on German tooling, but are of a more robust construction than the German K98’s, because the Serbian factory did not experience the performance of the U.S. 8th Air Force that had cheapened the German production near the end of the war. M24/47: Using the hard-hitting 8mm Mauser caliber, the M24/47 is made of steel and wood, no plastic, aluminium or cheap metal parts here. The trench warfare of WWI had taught the factory what works and what doesn’t. Skillful peace-time production gives you a Superior Mauser with benefits like a smoother action, a tighter lockup, neatly fitted sling swivels and a full wood upper. Designed in ‘24 and factory remade in ’47 after WWII. An Exciting Rifle to Own, the M24/47 is an excellent variation of the venerable German Mauser K98k that followed 10 years later.
