Microvisk’s patented MEMS-based technology allows the measurement of changes in the properties if any liquid ranging from engine oils, through to blood. The first product to contain this ground breaking technology will be a medical device (instrument and disposable strip) for the point of care testing of PT/INR for patients on the world leading oral anti-coagulation drug, Warfarin. The product will deliver a device that robustly enables PT/INR blood coagulation testing for patients at home. Uniquely, the disposable strip incorporates a digital memory to automatically provide calibration (reducing significantly the need for user intervention) and strip identification. This will combine ease of use and limited user intervention in a device that can be relied on by care givers and patients alike.
