Registered in England and Wales No: 1124533 and in Scotland SC044434 Patron: HRH The Duchess of Cornwall Founded in 2008, Medical Detection Dogs works with the powerful scenting ability of dogs to help detect disease and to assist with the management of life-threatening medical conditions. The Charity has two operational departments; Medical Alert Assistance Dogs and Bio-Detection Dogs. Our alert assistance dogs save lives daily and give clients the freedom and independence to live more normal lives while our bio-detection work has the potential to save millions of lives by developing early diagnosis techniques. Medical Detection Dog’s work is much needed. One in two born after 1960 will be affected by cancer during their lifetime, diabetes is on the rise and the challenges facing the NHS are well known. We are already making a huge difference to many, but we have the potential to save many thousands and transform the future detection of disease by offering a reliable, cost-effective and simple solution to early disease detection.
