The Massachusetts Commission for the Blind is a state agency that provides a variety of vocational and social rehabilitation services to legally blind residents of Massachusetts.
A key program of MCB is its Vocational Rehabilitative services designed to help legally blind individuals who are interested in finding employment. MCB's Vocational Rehabilitation counselors work with eligible individuals to explore career interest and options to develop a plan that may include work assessment, counseling, job training and assistance with job placement.
MCB social workers help the legally blind individuals to increase their independence by developing a customized plan which may include counseling related to blindness, referral to low-vision, elder-care. rehabilitation teaching and/or orientation and mobility services.
