Literacy Volunteers of Maricopa County is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching adults how to read, write, speak English and prepare for the GED. Our services empower adults in our community to become better candidates for sustainable employment, participate in higher education or job training and improve their quality of life.
Our 2 computer based learning centers in Phoenix, AZ are the heart of our program. These centers provide computer based instruction that is student centered and self paced. Students work together with certified adult educators and volunteer tutors to achieve their educational goals. LVMC also offers a popular distance learning program for those who qualify.
Literacy Volunteers of Maricopa County is proud to partner with Gate Way Community College, Phoenix College and Phoenix Workforce Connection to offer transition services that support our community well. We also work with the local school districts to offer classes for parents in our community.
Thank you to all who make our community based program possible.
