About LA Project
LAP is dedicated to stem the encroaching tide of HIV infection among the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transsexual, or LGBTQI, community through various channels of education, prevention, psychosocial services and resources for treatment.
LAP: Promoting and encouraging education on different HIV prevention options in the LGBT minority community.
Education:
• PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a new HIV prevention method that has been shown to dramatically reduce the rate of new infections in HIV-negative individuals. While not intended to replace the usage of CONDOMS, PrEP is a powerful new tool in the fight against HIV.
• PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) involves taking HIV medications as soon as possible after exposure. If properly used within the requisite window period, PEP has a strong record of successfully preventing the HIV virus from making copies of itself, preventing seroconversion.
Psychosocial Services:
• Peer Counseling for HIV diagnosed participants
• Counseling on risk reduction to HIV negative participants
• Life Coach Counseling
• Emotional, Educational and Support Groups

• Resources for STIs education, prevention-treatment
• Resources for Hep C, Meningitis, and HPV education, prevention-treatment

• Legal-Immigration Services
• Insurance Plans
• Hormone therapy
• Resources for any HIV-related questions
• Workforce
To maximize our impact on current efforts, we are going to hold fundraising events in order to provide services, also, we may seek to collaborate with other non-profit organizations, which fall under the 501(c) (3) section of the internal revenue code and are operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes.
