The World Health Organization said in 2018 that more than 80% of the world's adolescent population is insufficiently physically active. Although it’s clear the world is becoming more inactive, one thing that is increasing rapidly is the mass use and availability of mobile phones. The internet is now more accessible than ever.
Katapult founder Dan Hafner and business partner Joab Di Francesco realised this and wanted to use their passion for helping people to share knowledge by building a platform that could bring together talented individuals, technology and the knowledge from all corners of the world. In 2012 Katapult was born.
The Katapult app allows talented people, specialists and coaches to share their knowledge with the world. Whether its expert training in sport, health, business, wellbeing or performance, Katapult is the platform that breaks down accessibility barriers and brings new knowledge directly to your mobile phone or desktop.
In the same way that people can download music from their favourite artists, the web-based app, built using the same technology Google use, enables users to access programmes, tips and insights from experts based anywhere in the world, with smart recommendations based on people’s individual body index, lifestyle habits and training goals.
With the backing of investors and support from a team of Swiss developers, the pair built Katapult from scratch using the highest quality platform combined with rigorous Swiss security measures and dedicated servers for every client on the app, taking care to consult coaches, athletes and health and wellbeing experts along the way. It became clear the app had three potential avenues – health, sport and business – that now forms the pillars of Katapult’s business.
Born out of sport and adapted to the corporate and health industries, Katapult’s founding mission is unleashing expert knowledge to create a healthier world together. We'd love to chat.
