About KTH Hyperloop

We are a student team from KTH Royal Institute of Technology working on designing a Hyperloop pod prototype to participate in the Hyperloop Pod Competition organized annually by SpaceX. The team was formed in spring 2018 and currently consists of 50+ engineering students with expertise in the fields of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, system and control engineering, computer science, aerospace engineering, business and marketing.

Hyperloop, known as the fifth mode of transportation, is the concept of a pod travelling in near-vacuum conditions at speeds of up to 1200 km/h. It was first proposed by Elon Musk in a white paper in 2012. Hyperloop is an open-source technology, with student teams and start-ups alike taking on the challenge of creating the world’s first full-scale Hyperloop system. The technology is designed to be safe, energy efficient, and reliable.
