Indorama India Private Ltd. is a part of the multinational conglomerate, Indorama Corporation, led by Mr SP Lohia (Chairman) which is headquartered in Singapore. With increasing opportunities offered by the textile, clothing and organized retail industry, Indorama ventured into India with Indorama India Private Limited (Formerly IRC Agrochemicals Private Limited) and set up its first plant in the country for manufacturing Spandex Filament at Baddi, Himachal Pradesh in 2012. The company produces a revolutionary spandex fibre under the brand name of INVIYA®, which is a versatile polymer yarn that can be readily used in conjunction with cotton or synthetic filament yarns to produce fashion apparel with unparalleled qualities and higher value additions. The state-of-art plant with zero discharge is equipped with the latest continuous polymerization and dry spun technology, manufacturing 5000 MT of INVIYA® per annum which shall be enhanced to 15,000 MTs in two subsequent expansion phases. As a result of the increasing demand from the industry, the company has already commenced the second phase of expansion which is slated to be commissioned by the end of year 2015. It is the first and only plant of Spandex filament manufacturing business in the Indian subcontinent which has generated a positive impetus to the Indian clothing and textile industry in the region.
