Gobi Partners is a Pan-Asian venture capital firm established since 2002. We have 13 offices around the world, and a footprint covering Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. In Hong Kong, Gobi GBA is the exclusive General Partner (GP) for the Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund (AHKEF), building the Greater Bay Area (GBA) startup ecosystem. Our strategy is to build a network to connect emerging markets for the creation of a truly integrated startup ecosystem across Asia. Since 2010, Gobi has expanded internationally into emerging markets, making Gobi the first China-based VC firm evolving from being active only within the Northeast Asia region to Pan-Asian focused. We’ve taken the strengths and successful frameworks gained from our Chinese market experience, and apply these learnings to the rest of the emerging markets we operate in. Gobi is well-known in the industry for investing in early-stage startups across a wide spectrum of Technology sectors. To date, we have invested in over 260 portfolio companies, including Airwallex, GOGOVAN, Sandbox VR, WeLab, Prenetics, DayDayCook, AutoX, Tuniu.com, 36Kr, Teambition, Dianwoda, Madhouse, Opzoon, Urban Revivo, MainSpring, Cloudwise, and WaveOptics. We support our portfolio companies in every way we can, providing management guidance, operational know-how, and most importantly, access to a deep resources pool that we have been able to build over many years.
