Fashion Zone

We are Canada's hottest incubator for fashion-inspired startups. Based at Ryerson University, our mission is to create the next generation of fashion entrepreneurs. We have recognized a few gaps and opportunities in the Canadian Fashion Industry in regards to job availability for graduates and development of innovative products and services. The Fashion Zone at Ryerson University is one of Canada’s first communities for fashion-focused startups. With Canadian fashion jobs increasingly being outsourced, the goal of the Fashion Zone is to promote entrepreneurship as a viable career path for Ryerson students and other prospective entrepreneurs interested in fashion. Fashion Zone members learn how to launch and develop their own companies, and receive industry mentorship to progress their growth. We push for interdisciplinary collaboration in order to increase the development of unique new technologies, products, services, processes and accelerate the likelihood of successful new companies and social ventures. The Fashion Zone is a key new player in helping to build Canadian businesses and improve the quality of life for the Ryerson community and Canada as a whole. We are home to The Joe Fresh Centre for Fashion Innovation created in partnership with Joe Fresh and Joe Fresh Fund. The Centre is developing up to 21 emerging fashion businesses over the next four years.
