About FBA.

FBA. is a Coimbra, Portugal based design studio founded in 1998 with print, identity, exhibition, signage and interactive work developed with clients of different sizes and status from both the private and public sectors.

The studio has received numerous distinctions including the Portuguese National Design Award, several Red Dot Design Awards, European Design Silver Award for Book Design, European Design Finalist for Identity and a couple of Aiga 50 Books/50 Covers Awards. The studio's work has been featured in publications and was included in several exhibitions.

FBA's permanent team's competencies and experience are further expanded by professionals hired for specific projects as well as by our direct linkage to a number of partner companies working in complementary sectors.

In addition to its client based commissioned work, FBA has curated, written and produced some design related books for the Almedina publishing group.

Recognizing that design is critical to addressing progress in our society and should not just be available to those who can afford to buy it, FBA has regularly developed pro-bono projects for selected non-profit organizations working in areas such as mental health awareness, crime victim support and general social inclusion.

FBA is a proud former start-up and a current associate company of the Instituto Pedro Nunes Business Incubator, awarded with the The Technopolicy Network 2010 award for the wolrd's Best Science Based Incubator.
