About FARNET
The FARNET Support Unit was established by the European Commission to assist in the implementation of EU measures for the sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture areas under Axis 4 of the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF).
FARNET acts as a networking platform between fisheries across the EU and supports and guides Fisheries Local Action Groups (FLAGs) in devising and implementing sustainable solutions to the challenges confronting Europe’s fishing areas.
The FARNET Support Unit is run by DEVNET GEIE, a company jointly set up by Grupo Alba and AEIDL to provide technical assistance to DG MARE, the Commission department responsible for EU policy on maritime affairs and fisheries.
