About Ed100

Ed100.org explains California's education system plainly, in English and Spanish, one topic at a time. It's free. Each topic primer is brief - about 5 minutes. You can read them in order or pick and choose what interests you. If you complete all of the lessons, you earn your certificate as an Ed100 graduate.

Why Ed100 exists: Every day, thousands of people step up as volunteers to help California's schools, serving as leaders in PTAs or PTOs, or as site council members, or on school boards. Ed100 helps volunteers like these understand the system they are working to help. There's a lot to know. Teachers, administrators, board members and student leaders can use a good, clear explanation, too.

Ed100 demystifies topics including these and many others:
- Educational standards and the Common Core.
- Charter Schools
- School Funding (and LCFF)
- Teacher Unions
- Teacher Pay
- The Pension System
- The California School Dashboard
- Bilingual education
